Craft is knowledgeable. Design only enhances the technique into a new state of the art.
After one year of intense research, plus another year collaborating with Casa Luis Barragán — located in the neighborhood of Tacubaya in Mexico City— txt.ure team has recovered an extinct technique. This traditional Turkish Knot technique is the result of several time consuming processes that make it a luxurious Design-Craft piece to own.
Our most recent collection, the Pellizco Rugs is an accessible and convenient line to furnish the contemporary spaces.
Dyed and loomed in wool from the State of Mexico, our rugs are the perfect texture (or color) accent for the most intimate spaces. Designed for everyday use, the maintenance of these pieces is minimal. This small collection is presented in two sizes and two colors.
“5 Promesas del Diseño Latino 2018” / txt.ure profiled as one of the 5 Promises of Latin American Design, 2018.
“One of the companies that truly embodied this task of celebrating forgotten skills was txt.ure, a collaborative design project based in Mexico City and is working closely with New York-based furniture company, Luteca.”
“The Tule Collection pieces have a very interesting aesthetic: they seem oddly futuristic and otherworldly. Through lost fragments and narratives of Mexican design history, filtered through a modern, crowdfunded and socially astute business model, the result seems like a combination of a storied past with the technology and knowledge of the present.”
The hope of txt.ure is to prevent their extinction by creating new interest and a new market for this type of Mexican craftsmanship.
The Tule Collection are 100% handmade seats, made through a complex process that requires complete mastery of the technique. txt.ure has honored its style and scale to translate the knowledge of craft into the contemporary design language.
